The view is beautiful from The Strip at Night

Image
My second favorite place to shoot pictures is the Las Vegas Strip at night. don't get me wrong the strip during the day is nice, but I prefer at night. The lights, the buildings, the people, and the energy are amazing. I love the pictures you can take and the new dimension the bright lights give all the buildings.

The view is beautiful from The Golden Gate Bridge

Image
I know this is cheesy and beyond touristy, but I love the Golden Gate Bridge. There is just so much you can see! The grounds are great. You can get tons of pictures of the bridge itself. The Fort around the Bridge is great photography fodder too. From the bridge you can get pictures of the bay, the city and close ups of the bridges towers. I could max out my memory card there easily.

Someday I'll have a Mid Range apartment in San Francisco or Las Vegas

I initially said simple, but I'm sorry having some nice things would be nice. I don't need the best of everything. I just want to have an adequate placed to live, fun clothes, a place for my fids the means to afford it. I want to live in cities I love and that I could fit in better than I could here. I think that is fair.

Clothes I relax in

After a busy weekend, vacation and another busy weekend, I am taking some me time to blog and get my pictures uploaded. Old jean capris and a long sleeved blue shirt are comfortable for sitting around the house. They are not old and ratty, but I'm not going for high fashion.

A Torrid in my town would be nice

I'm a weird shopper. I"m not big into shopping. I'm more of a planned person. I know what i am getting from where and it is done. However, if I like a store I am more likely to jut go in to look. Torrid is one of those stores...but since we do not have one I have to order online. Torrid is a great store. It has casual clothes, dress clothes, and my Goth clothes all in one place. I have ordered enough from them I know my sizes, I woulds still like to buy things face to face.

Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Las Vegas

Hotel: Planet Hollywood Location: Las Vegas Reason for Trip: Girls Getaway A friend and I stayed at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas September 21-23. We were pleasantly surprised by our stay. We booked the Hollywood Hip room under the Drinks are on us promotion, so we received a bottle of liquor for each night we stayed (the promotion has changed to per stay, but our room was booked under the old terms). The room was plenty big. There has initially been three of us, and there would have been plenty of room for a roll-away bed. We were in the White Men Can't Jump room, and there was memorabilia from them movie around the room. The two queen beds were awesomely comfortable. The flat screen TV was nice (but we rarely used it). The bathroom was huge. There was a shower, vanity area, soaking tub and a toilet area. The soaking tub was fabulous after a long day of walking on the strip. The casino was small, but fun. We stuck mainly to the slots, so we were okay, but bigger gamblers may ...

Anyone know where I put my turntable

Image
We did had an 8-track on our stereo, but my parents mainly listened to records. I ad all my "kid" music (Sesame Street and Disney) on vinyl. I even bought my very first album, Debbie Gibson Out of the Blue, on vinyl. I remember it just had a different sound to it. As a person who works in the "music" industry now, I am grateful for digital music and that I can carry all the songs I need on a hard drive. However, I do miss the sound of the needle on the grooves.

Hmmm...JImmy Johns

Image
I love take out food, but generally I steer away because well do I really need a whole pizza or enough Chinese food to meet the $10 minimum for delivery? However, I have found an alternative. It might not be the best for me, but it works. Jimmy Johns is fabulous because: 1) I love all the veggies and topping selections. 2) You can fin something for everyone 3) The bread is fabulous. 4) If I am being good and want to bypass the bread I can get it in a lettuce wrap instead. 5) They deliver 6) They deliver to my desk at work as opposed to just calling me from the lobby (a huge bonus when we are busy) 7) You can order online

Identity Crisis

Ever since I turned 30, I've been having this little identity crisis. I'm not sure if it is just insecurity, or if I'm really just putting things into perspective. I am starting to look around and wonder what the heck I am doing here. I sometimes feel like I have three lives pulling me in different directions and that I only actually fit in one of them. Life 1: The somewhat disgruntled secondary education employee. I have these goals of moving higher in the organization. I really do like helpig my students, but sometimes I feel like I am trapped. I want to give high quality work, but I'm feeling like this is a one sided relationship. That being said, it pays my bills and keeps a roof over my and the fids heads. Life 2: The Freelance Writer/Editor/Web Designer geeky girl. This is where I feel most at home. I love to write. I wish I had more time for photography, and I'm actually pretty good at web design. I love this life, and I wish it was the one I lived all the ti...

It is amazing how things change: fiction

One minute, I have my story all figured out. The next one new idea changes every thing. It opens the door to new characters, eliminating characters, or changing core elements. Sometimes you find yourself at a crossroads: where do I go and what do I change. Do I keep a character? Do I add a character or just make a new one? Do I make her a villain or a truly nice person stuck in the middle. Yes the villain creates more drama, but at what point is there too much drama? Maybe making the other woman too nice will create the conflict needed. Back story…character tie ins…eh maybe we can use that later. I like the whole idea of the female lead knowing someone in this new story. I know that was the whole basis of the initial story idea, but now I am starting to think that may be a hindrance. Do we need the whole elaborate past, or can this new idea make up for all of this?     So now I find myself looking at what I have, the new ideas, and how to make it all work. Sometimes I wonder how I ma...

I'll take a tattoo of a nightmare before christmas – just for a week

Image
Lets just pretend I could get over my fear of needles, and my worries about tattoos, and I could have one for just week. Now this would be a huge undertaking seeing how needles just about put my blood pressure through the roof. I guess I would get something from A Nightmare Before Christmas. Nightmare before xmas disneyland I don't know where I would put it. I mean I'm not exactly one to show off skin. Maybe it will go on my shoulder or my ankle? I'm not sure I would keep it though. I am not sure if permanent tattoos are for me. I love well done ones on other people, but having my own makes me nervous. One I don't have a boo show one off and I change so often I'm not sure what I pick now would be what ld want on me forever.
