Times they are a changing

First and foremost: I am no longer a blonde. I have taken the plunge and returned to a reddish brown and I love it. I went with the "color experte" dye where you do the base color and then the highlights. I also know since I dyed over light blonde hair it will probably fade fast. I will have to touch it up around Thanksgiving and then probably again before the cruise. It was time for a change. I hated it anyway...it just took me so long to get it the right color so I stuck wit it hoping it would grow on me. Okay...I am so cringing as I hear yet another totally ignorant conversation happening in the common office area. I totally cannot wait for this election for be over. I have no qualms with people having differing opinions, but when they just believe everything the media...and worse satire media feeds them, it makes my blood boil. It makes no difference if you get all your "facts" from Fox News or from CNN...or the Daily Show...people need to get a clue and start b...

Wednesday update...

Well the Head Ache is still going full blast. Today it is worse, so this will be a little update. I have some travel advice hanging out at Culturefeast More travel advice for pet owners over on Travel Tips for the Clueless And Tips on how to: Withdraw from a class ant Ivy Tech Community College Find A Pet Sitter Downloading Ringtones from Crackberry and More over on Ehow. Yeah this update is lame, but I will have tons of new and fun things for Friday!

So my Monday Post is a day late

Yes, yesterday greeted me with a migraine and I was less than motivated to get this update Please accept my apologies. First: I finally have my response to the whole Chloe mess. I am very disappointed by the clinic's response, but I am choosing to not pursue it any farther. They have shown that no matter what I say, they are going to take the word of the attending vet over mine, and they are not going to admit wrong doing. This breaks my heart, but continuing to fight them is not going to make it better. Things that irked me most about the letter: The Lead Vet kept calling her Cloe... They kept insisting it was about money... They didn't even give a little thought to what I had to say... They slammed me with time frame accusations, when really I was waiting on them to actually talk to me (You waited an hour before hospitalizing her...uh yeah because I was still waiting for someone to tell me her prognosis.etc) I'm just heartbroken about how it has turned out, but what else...

Another Week comes to a Close

Hello all! I'm actually following through with my new found game plan to post here with updates on MWF. I think it is actually working out well! First we have the new posts: We have new fun on Associated Content! Yes I'm getting back in gear and I plan to start submitting there regularly over the next few weeks. Out first push starts with a little educational piece on using Cha Cha: How To Use Cha Cha Yes, many of you already know I am a crazy bird lady, but this week, my 18 year old cockatiel decided to get sassy with me. Well really he is sassy all the time, but this was unexpected: Of Course I hear Voices The new Friday tradition continues over at Common Sense Police with this week's a week in review. Here are a few of the things that did not make the CSP blog, but I still felt were noteworthy. This week's isn't so ranty, but it has some good points: Random weekly ponderings Novella News: So I have it narrowed down to 3 main characters: 1) Callee 2) Jacob 3) Tho...

Mid Week Writing Update

We are chalk full of fun this Wednesday...really we are. I'm very excited about all the progress. The Emergency Animal Clinic failed to respond to my BBB complaint in the 15 day window. So for now, I'm in a holding pattern. Catch more on that here at the Waiting Game. If you missed the whole Chloe debacle, you can catch some of it in Lessons from the Emergency Vet . I wrote the blog at the time of the incident, and it is just now coming out on Culturefeast. It has the story, plus some other fun insights. CAAP Testing is going to drive me mad! I just don't understand sometimes! Novella news. I am proud of the new items I've come up with. I think I've made the Jared character more rounded and decided to scale back a few characters because was just becoming too confusing. Maybe I will have an outline available for human consumption soon. EHOW: How to keep a parakeet happy How to visually sex a cockatiel How to set up a parakeet cage How to pick toys for a cockatiel Ho...

So Much Work...so little time

So far we have: You Try Working From Home October Rain Tiger A Bird Rant New Pictures I'm currently looking into writing a piece for Culturefeast. I'm looking into the different ways the current economic situation is impacting people. I'm amazed by the way people are misinformed about things you should have learned in High School.

Why I'm Filing a Complaint against a vet

I know even an emergency animal clinic is a business. I know that businesses need to make money. I know that avian care is expensive, but I recently experienced something completely repulsive. My father recently had a medical emergency. I made the trip back to Toledo with all five of my birds to spend some time with him after he was released from the hospital. Everything was fine. Everyone fared the car ride well, and nothing seemed wrong. Then I came home from lunch one day and found my girl parakeet at the bottom of the cage. She was all puffed up. I checked all the usual suspects. She didn’t have an nasal discharge, there was not change in her…um well…excrement, and actually when I got her out of the cage she started to perk back up. Then it happened, she had a seizure. We are guessing she had at least one while we were gone, and that is why she wasn’t herself. We called my parents’ vet and they referred us to an Emergency Animal Clinic about 30 minutes away. We made there in 20, ...

Today's Fun

Image
Well it is Wednesday...and I have 3 articles and a blog to try and hammer out tonight...yes I am crazy! sometimes the blogs just write themselves. Some people just amaze me with their ability to lie. Check out What The... I also have TONS of new E-How Articles up and running, and I will probably have another 15 post within the next few weeks. Check out my content at www.ehow.com . RedGage is being evil again. It is one of the joys of writing for a beta site. I have tons of photos to upload, but it won't let me...so for now I have my Yay Halloween Blog to tide you over. Yes I am totally geeked about Halloween...I can't even tell you how happy I am. I will start slowly bringing in decorations to the office. And it is time to plan this years costume...I am a fan of wings, but maybe I'll go a different route this year... Last Year (work safe costume...had another one for not at work) Part of the Office Maybe I'll go as a vampire this year...that could be fun

Looking back at the weekend

This weekend was one for the books. I had moments of introspection, loneliness, happiness, pure anger, annoyance, creativity, frustration and tech savvyness. 1) The Loneliness led to intospection...which led to blogging Today's Lesson 2) Creativity and Frustration came out in Still Not Sleeping 3)Annoyance and Pure Anger was covered in Anger and Frustration ...and I'm not sure exactly what I am going to do about it. The person envoking this wrath is a friend of a friend, but he and his little entourage of friends are just plain rude. I'm hoping it won't continue to be an issue, but if it does I'm going to do. 4) Creativity alone created some great leaps forward with the novella. 5) Frustration, Annoyance, and Tech Savvyness are all part of this need to fix a laptop. For some reason it kept locking up on Saturday night (luckily this is not my laptop). Now all the laptops lag every now and then...I know part of my laptop's issue is it is on Vista, and I have an ol...

Some housekeeping and new info

What I really want to write about is something that has evolved over the last week. A co-worker of mine was arrested. He is charged with some very shocking and inappropriate behavior. The whole thing is a mess, and even in just talking about it at work, I came across some very ignorant opinions of the situation. I most certainly have an option, but until all the facts are in, I’m going to just leave it at this: The young man in question obviously has some issues based on the facts we DO know from that Target surveillance tapes, and I pray for his sake and for the sake of that little girl the allegations are not true. Once again though, it isn’t fair to either party to assume or judge just yet. Until then, I will have my thoughts and opinions, but I’m not going to post on the subject. Please be respectful of my stance on this, and if you do blog on it, please be respectful of all parties involved. The good news is Redgage is back up. I am hoping to get quite a few new blogs up there fo...

TGIF!!!

Thank God it is Friday!!! I know I keep promising a Red Gage update...and tonight it will happen. I have lots of great things to post there, but the site is in Beta. That means it isn't always working right. I am hopeful we have all the bugs worked out soon. I've made this all so great decision to start a week in review blog on Common Sense Police. I kept coming up with these "ideas" for blogs that just were too short to dedicate to a single blog. Instead of wasting these little gems, I am going to start compling them into one big blog on Fridays. The First one is admittedly a bit lame...but give me some time to hone and perfect them. You can see the first stab here: 9/15 A Week in Review . I'm also apparently back in favor with the Culturefeast editor (lol I'm so kidding I was never out of favor. He just had several more timely political blogs to get in. I totally understand!) So you can read more about the parent's house fire here. By the time the weeked...

The daily installment of Common Sense and some Culture

Today brings us a few new blog sightings! First a look at call center short comings at the Common Sense Police Next we have some Political Rantings (of course all bipartisan ranting...I refuse to party bash) and DVR talk over on CultureFeast: How DiD I live Before My DVR Why I don't talk about Politics More updates are forthcoming...I'm hoping to get a new post or two on Red Gage but until then Check out my exisiting Red Gage Pictures and Blogs Here!

I just don't get people

On Monday, I had a less than plesant encounter with a rude and irate woman. She called my number to find out about her Distance Ed test. However, I do not handle distance ed testing. She went on an obscenity laced tirade about how I was lazy and bad at my job. 1) I do not work for Distance Ed Testing 2) I do not have access to the Distance Ed files because they are on the Academic Server and I work for academic advising. 3) If she wants to know when a test is due,it will be in her sylibus. 4) Yeah I feel bad that no one answered the phone up there, but I am pretty sure the hours are listed on the voice mail. 5) Oh yes cussing at me is so going to help. I'm going to most likely hang up on you after i copy your number and give it to my supervisor to issue a complaint against you. Check out more on this story here. Ughh...people kill me sometimes!

Playing Catch Up

Time to get back on track at Common Sense Police And Get the whole Chloe Story on Redgage

Today at Common Sense Police

Some food for thought: What would happen if people stop expecting the world to do them favors, figured out life wasn't fair, and took personal responisblity for their actions? What do you think would happen?

The Whole Chloe Story

Many of you know I adapoted a parakeet over the weekend. Of course I blogged about it! Click Here for the whole story! Also, I'm having some issues uploading to Red Gage, so I didn't get to post a new blog there last night. Hopefully I'll get that fixed.

What is going on

Well it has been busy around these parts. but I'm glad to say things are going well. Right now I have my rant blog and my other stuff and photo blog: Fun Stuff Rant Blog I try to write on both each day...so I'm getting my therapy and I'm talking about positive things too. I've started working on thngs for EHow again, and I will hopefully have a new round of articles for Associated Content coming up soon as well.I will of course have links! In other news I adopted another parakeet this weekend. Her name is Chloe, and despite her awful situation she is adapting well to her new life. Now we just need to get the boys to warm to her!
